FOR FULL SCOPE DESCRIPTIONS PLEASE SEE: MIH Microscopy Guide

The Nikon Model E1000R is a fully motorized, computer controlled fluorescence microscope.   The scope is equipped with DAPI, FITC, TRITC, Texas Red and Cy5/DiD filter cubes; as well as DIC and polarizing capabilities. The computer controlled stage movement and deconvolution capabilities of the scope are designed for users interested in high-resolution 3D reconstructions. DMLA and Axiovert 135TV inverted are on special reserve. NOTE 7/10/10: Nikon E1000 now offline (director archives report) and has been replaced with Leica unit. Apologies to all laboratories whose work was interrupted.

Images can be acquired on this microscope through either cooled CCD (Hanamatsu ORCA 285), 35mm digital, or 35mm film cameras. The fluorescence workstation is equipped with a wide array of morphometry / image analysis software, including an iterative deconvolution software package.   In addition to departmental and SSH secure shell network connections from the workstation, a 52x CD burner, DVD writer, and high speed USB ports are provided for users to download data.   Data from this system can also be directly ported to a remote imaging workstation, allowing users to perform more detailed image analyses. Security is provided by video surveillance operating 24 hours / day. Please insure that your training is complete and you have a recent copy of the user notes  or  DIC instructions prior to using this scope.
